Remember, Share and Discover Places with Scoville

With the saturation of location-based social networking services such as Foursquare and Gowalla, there is a strong interest in how to innovate this industry.

Enter Scoville.

Scoville was founded by Gerald Goldstein and Itamar Lesuisse, initially as a side project of Kukunu, a social travel planning service. This service shares the name the measurement of the spicy heat (or piquance) of a chili pepper, because its goal is to define how hot a place would be for a given person.

Scoville is built around a very simple, yet actionable idea: #toptuesday.

What is #toptuesday?

According to the developers:

Every Tuesday we’d share with our friends the best places we’d been to in the past week. Only awesome places had to be shared. And that’s how every Tuesday we’d get a list of awesome places from our friends and plan to visit some of them in the coming days or over the week-end.

scoville background

#toptuesday is a reason to keep users coming back every week to Scoville.  The idea is that every Tuesday you will find curated lists of place by people who recently discovered or absolutely love those places.

How Do I get Started with Scoville?

You can connect your Scoville account to Twitter, Facebook and Foursquare and choose which activities you want to share with those networks below. While Twitter and Facebook are optional connections, Foursquare is a required connection in order to fully enjoy all features from Scoville. Once Scoville has access to your Foursquare activity, building your #toptuesday is a snap.
