Top Twitter Blunders Actors Have Made

With the advent of social media it seems that actors have a whole new way to ruin their public images. The problem with these publicity outlets is that it’s all too easy to say something off-the-cuff and have no way to take it back.

Ashton Kutcher and the Penn State Scandal

When Ashton Kutcher heard that Penn State Coach Jo Paterno had been fired, he took to Twitter to voice his outrage, shocked that the stalwart of college football had been let go. The problem: Kutcher hadn’t heard the reason for Paterno’s removal had to do with allegations of ignoring (or not doing enough to stop) child sexual abuse by one of his colleagues.

Kutcher’s followers, by contrast, were well aware and Twitter users quickly ripped into him for his insensitivity and ignorance. The next day, Kutcher announced that he would have his management team check all his tweets. Maybe he could have just done a little research before tweeting?

Courtney Love and the Libel Suit

Rock musician and actress Courtney Love is no stranger to scandal. The star of The People vs. Larry Flint and Man on the Moon was left with egg on her face after she put out a tweet alleging that a law firm had been bought off when they refused to have her as a client.

The law firm, full of lawyers as it was, promptly filed suit for libel. Love promptly left Twitter – the best decision she made in the whole affair.

Lindsay Lohan and the Topless TwitPic

It’s fair to say that the Mean Girls star is now unrecognizable from her days as a cute child in the Parent Trap. Between rehab and court dates she’s done her image a lot of damage and now just seems a bit odd.

Given her new bad-girl persona, the only surprising thing about tweeting a topless picture of herself to her followers is that she bothered to cover her breasts with her hair.

Scott Baio and the Fierce First Lady

As an actor Baio should know that anybody can take a bad picture, so his tweet of Michelle Obama looking less-than-her-normal-polished, topped off with a reference to pitying her husband seeing her face in the mornings, was in pretty poor taste.

The Charles in Charge star was lambasted and even accused of racism. He only fanned the flames by refusing to apologize, referring to it as a joke.

If you’re a budding actor, location may be most important to you when looking for acting classes. San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York – stop worrying about where you’ll be and start looking for an acting school – in San Francisco or Alaska – anywhere that will teach you how not to mess up on Twitter!

Now that you’ve gotten more information about the dumb mistakes actors make on Twitter, your next step should probably be learning more about acting classes, San Francisco, including best San Francisco acting school options. Post written by guest blogger Shane Jones.
